Annual General Meeting (Virtual) February 20, 2026, 12:00-1:00 p.m.

We are excited to announce that the Annual General Meeting of the Association of Alberta Health Libraries will be held virtually on Friday, February 20, 2026 from 12:00-1:00 pm MST. Current and prospective AAHL members are welcome to attend and meet other members, as well as discuss AAHL’s plans for the future.
Please fill out the RSVP Form to let us know if you are able to attend or not. A link to the Zoom meeting will be sent out to those that have RSVP’d “yes” by February 13, 2026. We will also be sending out the meeting agenda at that time.
During the AGM we will be discussing the updated AAHL Bylaws that were passed by special resolution in August 2025, as well as unveiling our new logo, which will be used on official AAHL correspondence.
The AGM will also include a summary of events held during 2025, introduce your new Executive for 2026, while also giving our utmost thanks and appreciation to our outgoing Executive members for starting this journey during our first official year of existence as an association.

AAHL Lunch & Learn Event: AI Academic Search Engines – What Health Science Librarians Need to Know – November 4, 2025, 12:00 p.m.-1:00 p.m.
Please join us on November 4, 2025 over the noon hour for a virtual Lunch and Learn session presented by librarians Kaitlin Fuller and Erica Nekolaichuk. Kaitlin and Erica will be speaking to us about AI academic search engines and the impact this has on health sciences librarians.

Speaker Bios:
Erica Nekolaichuk is an instructional librarian with the Gerstein Science Information Centre at the University of Toronto. She has a Masters in the history of medicine from McGill and completed library school at Western University in 2012. She is a sessional lecturer in the Faculty of Information where she developed and occasionally teaches a course called Evidence-Based Healthcare for Librarians. Her current research interests are in testing the performance of academic AI search engines.
Kaitlin Fuller, MLIS, is a Scholarly Communications and Health Sciences Librarian at St. Francis Xavier University (StFX). Before joining StFX, she worked as a liaison librarian to the MD Program at the University of Toronto. Kaitlin has also taught as a co-instructor of the Health Sciences Literature & Information Resources course at Dalhousie University, as faculty in the Library and Information Technology program at Nova Scotia Community College, and as a sessional lecturer with the Institute of Medical Sciences at the University of Toronto. Her research interests include librarian teaching practices, search strategies for knowledge synthesis, and the evaluation of academic AI search engines.
